Welcome to the Ashdon Gardening Club
This popular village group welcomes novices and experienced gardeners alike at their monthly meetings which are held on a monthly basis from October to May. Whatever your level of experience you will usually find something to interest you, and you may even win a raffle prize or be presented with a fledgling plant.
The 2009 annual General Meeting was held on 28th May and the Committee was re-elected "en bloc" with H Haynes remaining as Chairman. Following the business element of the meeting, we were plied with wine and nibbles whilst trying to identify strange plants that members had discovered in their gardens. This was the last formal meeting of the season. A number of events have been planned for the summer break. Click on the Village Show and other events link at the left to find out about them. The next meeting will take place on September 17 at 7.45 pm in Ashdon Village Hall. The renowned lecturer Hilary Taylor will be talking about "Plants for Places". As usual there will be a question and Answer session and tea and coffee will be served later when there will be a chance to look at the bring and buy stall. Everyone is welcome to attend. We held a very successful Plant Sale on 16th May. Thank you to all helpers and vistors to the stall who bought and brought plants.
We have an exciting new development with which to end 2008 and start 2009. Those of you who have visited our website before may notice a new link to Prunings. Ian Herd has taken on the task of producing our occasional newsletter and we think that you will agree about the interesting content that he has put together for us. It will still be produced as a paper newsletter so if you would prefer to receive it in this form please let us know by clicking the contact link at the left hand side.
