Pot plants at Ashdon Village Show August 2010 thumbnail

Ashdon Gardening Club celebrated another successful Village Show in 2011. As usual the quality of entries was high in all classes in spite of the mostly miserable summer weather. The members' Impatiens plants turned out very well, which was encouraging after last year's failure. Again the overall number of exhibitors was down due to holiday arrangements, particularly in the handicrafts section but there was still plenty to look at for visitors. An addition to the proceedings was a popular tombola stall and we wish to thank everyone who donated items for it and also thanks to Lucy and Davy Swan who helped to run it so efficiently. Thanks also go to members of the Club who ran the refreshments stall and provided cakes for the afternoon.

Please don't forget that every year the Gardening Club hold a successful plant sale in May. There are always some good bargains from tomato plants to vegetables and floral plants. Find out more by clicking on the link.
